Autumn Nourishment Flow 2.5hr Workshop with Katy Appleton
12th October 2017, 6.45pm-9.15pm Lyne Village Hall, Chertsey.
I'm thrilled to welcome back for a second time in 2017, one of my main teachers and constant yoga inspire-rs, Katy Appleton.
Katy was one of my first 'teachers' albeit through the TV screen with her DVD featuring Geri Halliwell back in 2002. I loved the DVD and still love the sequences on there to this day. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to go to her classes, workshops, retreats and teacher trainings. For me Katy brings yoga alive and makes it an art. An art of combining detailed anatomy knowledge, poetry and heart based flows into a seamless dance of sensory delight. I love her and am blessed to be hosting another workshop, with Katy as my guest.
As Autumn enters, we can embrace the change in nature, life, and the body, this is the time of the year when we can celebrate abundance and all the good things we have as well as the skill of letting go. We will look specifically at the respiratory system and lungs, using this class as a sweet tonic when are usually most in need of some immune support. Through the physical asana we will take a ride through creative sequences sprinkled with twists like revolved half moon and revolved triangle, a camel inspired sequence will all build some heat and immunity. Moving sweetly into a seated lunar current where we can fall into the depth of opening through hip openers, forward bends and simple inversions. Earth this flow with delicious restoratives and a sweet blissful savasana.
Saraswati Water Flow 2.5hr Workshop with Katy Appleton
23rd February 2017, 6.45pm-9.15pm Lyne Village Hall, Chertsey.
Saraswati is the Goddess of the arts, music, inspiration and flow, she is the holder of self expression and creativity rendering her one of the most popular heroines of Indian myths. In this workshop we will explore playing with the power of the breath within the flow of a class, increasing the power behind it to see how the body mind responds and becomes more like a fast flowing river and then slowing it to create a calmer more introspective practice.
The sequences are delivered and inspired by Katy's love for Vinyasa and Bhakti Yoga; weaved with mantra, divine words of poetry, soulful rocking tunes and appleyoga’s signature structured alignment. Expect to come away feeling strong, nourished, connected and free.

Beltane Shamanic Yoga workshop Thursday 1st May 2014
I was very proud and excited to have as my guest Leah Bracknell for a Shamanic Yoga workshop. Leah is a beautiful, warm charismatic soul who's DVD 'Yoga and You' is still up there as one of my personal favourites. This was a unique workshop merging yoga with ancient shamanic practices and ritual. Calling on the power and wisdom of the elements, nature, our ancestors and the spirit of the asanas to deepen our connection to all life, to one another and to ourselves.
Leah Bracknell: 'Dearest Vernette, thank you so much for inviting me to come and share a little Beltane Shamanic shenanigans with you all last Thursday, it really was a wonderful evening.... What a wonderful group of students you have, and it is clear you are a real energy and inspiration to them. So thank you all once again, for sitting in circle alongside myself, Jez and the Bhudda. Thank you for being so generous of heart and spirit, and may you continue to find strength and inspiration from your yoga.
It was an honour to share a magical and special evening with you in our Surrey Shamanic Yoga circle. I still feel all that lovely Beltane elemental energy flowing through me. So bless you all for making the evening complete and your beautiful feedback. Many many blessings, Leah x'
Vernette: 'This was an amazing workshop. I loved it and I love Leah. It was diverse, fun, insightful, brought Kundalini kriyas, soundwork and Shamanic ritual to my students. I was honoured to have Leah and Jez share my space in Weybridge and invite them back for another very soon. xx'

It was such a relief to just let go! Thank you so much for organising such an alternative evening, it will stay with me for a very long time. Namaste'

Indo Board Yoga workshop, taught by fellow Sun Power Yoga Teacher, Indo Board Teacher and friend, Nichola Cummisky.
The Indo Yoga Board is designed to take yoga to the next level by adding instability much like the popular Stand Up Paddle Yoga, Paddle Board Yoga or SUP Yoga. The instability completely changes the way yoga is practised, challenging you to engage significantly more muscles during each pose and to realize any imbalances or imperfections that might exist.
It certainly was challenging!
